With Love Ceremonies

Hi there, I’m Claire Lee, an independent Christian celebrant based in Cawood, in the Vale of York.

I offer both Christian-led and non-religious ceremonies for weddings/vow renewals, baby blessings and namings, and funerals/memorials/celebrations of life.

Whatever the occasion, I believe a ceremony should feel genuine, personal and, above all,
like the people at its heart. I’ll get to know you, listen to what matters to you, and create something that reflects your story, your values
and your relationships.

Some moments call for laughter, some for tears, and some for both. I’m here to create a ceremony that makes space for all of it.

I believe the best ceremonies begin with listening.

Before I write your ceremony, I want to get to know you — properly. I want to hear how you met, what makes you laugh, the people who have shaped your lives and the little stories that make your relationship yours.

With 27 years’ experience as a teacher, and many more years in voluntary work serving the community, I’ve spent much of my life listening to people, understanding what matters to them, and finding ways to bring people together. I bring that same curiosity and care to every ceremony I create.

I’ll take all those stories, memories and little details and weave them into a ceremony that feels natural, meaningful and completely yours.

And I don’t believe your guests should simply sit and watch. I want them to feel part of your story too — with moments that might make them laugh, moments that might make them cry, and plenty that make them think, “That’s so them.”

With Mum living with terminal cancer, this was an incredibly special and emotional occasion for our family, and Claire went above and beyond to make it happen. She agreed to be our celebrant at very short notice, travelled a long way to be with us, and even arrived early to make sure everything was just right. Over the few weeks we had to prepare, Claire took the time to get to know Mum, Dad and our family. She listened to our story and made the ceremony so personal, meaningful and beautiful.
